Summer Between

A Summer Support Group for College Students (Ages 18–25)

College can be intense.

Classes, deadlines, internships, jobs, relationships, family expectations, figuring out who you are, figuring out what comes next.

During the semester, there is often so much happening that there isn't much time to stop and process any of it.

Then summer arrives.

  • For some students, that means moving back home.

  • For others, it means losing daily contact with friends and community.

  • For many, it means finally having enough space to notice how exhausted, anxious, lonely, uncertain, or overwhelmed they've actually been.

Summer Between is a therapist-led support group for undergraduate students ages 18–25.

College is often described as a time of freedom, self-discovery, and possibility.

For a lot of students, it can also be a time of financial stress, family pressure, loneliness, burnout, identity questions, political uncertainty, and feeling like you're supposed to have a plan for your entire future before you've had a chance to figure out who you are.

Then summer comes.

Classes end, but a lot of what you've been carrying doesn't.

Some students return home to families who don't fully understand them.

Some lose access to the friends, routines, and communities that helped them get through the year.

Some are trying to recover from burnout while also worrying about internships, jobs, graduate school, debt, or what happens after graduation.

This group is a place to talk about those realities with other students who are living them too.

Not because every problem has a solution.

Sometimes it helps to spend time with people who understand that growing up in this moment is complicated, and that struggling with it does not mean something is wrong with you.

A Therapy and Support Group

  • • A space to talk honestly about college life without having to pretend everything is fine

    • Support around burnout, anxiety, loneliness, uncertainty, and the pressure to have your future figured out

    • Conversations about family, relationships, identity, belonging, and what happens when life doesn't look the way you expected

    • Connection with other students navigating similar questions and challenges

    • A therapist-led space that prioritizes reflection, community, and real conversation over advice-giving or fixing

    • A chance to spend part of your summer in community instead of carrying everything alone

  • This group may be a good fit if:

    • You are between 18–25 and currently enrolled in college or university

    • You feel exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how much longer you can keep pushing through

    • You are returning home this summer and worried about family dynamics, expectations, or losing your support system

    • You feel pressure to have a career plan, internship, graduate school plan, or next step figured out

    • You are questioning who you are, where you belong, or what kind of life you actually want

    • You often feel like everyone else is handling adulthood better than you are

    • You want a place to talk honestly with other students who understand that this stage of life can be both exciting and incredibly hard

WHAT WE'LL EXPLORE

Session 1
Now That Things Have Slowed Down

The semester is over, but a lot of what you've been carrying may still be here.

We'll begin by taking stock of the year, what it cost, what you're proud of, what you're grieving, and what has followed you into the summer.

Session 2
Going Home Isn't Always Simple

Returning home can mean reconnecting with family, old expectations, old versions of yourself, or parts of your life you thought you had moved beyond.

We'll explore the realities of family dynamics, boundaries, identity, and belonging.

Session 3
Who Am I Without The Campus?

Many students spend the school year surrounded by friends, routines, and communities that suddenly disappear during the summer.

We'll talk about loneliness, friendship, connection, and what happens when your support system feels far away.

Session 4
Everyone Else Has A Plan. Right?

Internships.
Graduate school.
Careers.
Resumes.
LinkedIn.

We'll unpack the pressure to have everything figured out and the stories we tell ourselves when we don't.

Session 5
The Person I Was Last Year Isn't Here Anymore

College changes people.

We'll explore identity, growth, uncertainty, and what it means to outgrow old expectations without fully knowing what comes next.

Session 6
What Do I Want To Carry Forward?

Before the semester begins again, we'll reflect on what you've learned, what support you need, and what kind of relationship you want with yourself moving forward.

Cost (Community Sliding Scale)

This group uses a community sliding scale.

College students have very different relationships to money. Some are financially supported by family. Some are working multiple jobs.
Some are paying their own way through school. Others are somewhere in between.

Rather than setting a single fixed price, we invite you to choose the rate that best reflects your current financial reality.

No proof of income is required.

This model is based on trust. We trust you to choose the rate that feels sustainable for you while helping make the group accessible to others.

Reduced Rate
$35 per session
($210 total)

You might choose this rate if:

• You are financially dependent on others

• You are currently unemployed or working limited hours

• You are managing significant financial stress

• You are paying for school, housing, or living expenses with limited support

• Paying a higher rate would create hardship or prevent you from participating

Sustaining Rate
$60 per session
($360 total)

You might choose this rate if:

• Your basic needs are generally met

• You have consistent income, financial support, or both

• You have some flexibility in your budget, even if money still requires planning

• This rate feels manageable without creating significant financial stress

Community
Support Rate
$80 per session
($480 total)

You might choose this rate if:

• You have strong financial support from family or other sources

• You have access to savings or other financial resources

• Paying at this level would not create financial hardship

• You would like to help support lower-cost spots for other students

Choosing this tier helps make the group more accessible for someone else.

Payment is collected upfront to reserve your space and support group planning.

If cost is the main thing preventing you from joining, please reach out. We understand that financial situations can be complicated and are happy to have a conversation.

FACILITATOR

Meg Sullivan, LCSW

She/Her

Meg is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting adolescents, young adults, and families across school, outpatient, and inpatient settings.

Much of her work focuses on the realities many students are navigating right now: anxiety, burnout, identity exploration, neurodivergence, family dynamics, loneliness, and the pressure of trying to figure out what comes next.

Her approach is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and grounded in the belief that people do not heal through shame, pressure, or having all the answers. They heal through connection, curiosity, and having space to be honest about what they are carrying.

In this group, Meg brings warmth, humor, and a steady presence. Her goal is not to tell students what to do, but to create a space where they can feel supported, challenged, and a little less alone while navigating this stage of life.

Thinking About Joining?

Choosing a group often starts with getting a sense of the person holding the space.
