About Caleb

Hello, welcome!

My name is Caleb, and I’m glad you’re here. I’m a Clinical Intern here at Phoenix Rising Centers. I am white, trans-masculine, queer, neurodivergent, and fat. My identities, experience, and education help inform my therapeutic work. In my work, I am curious, non-judgemental, and keep in mind larger systems such as racism, sexism, ableism, diet culture, etc. I also offer compassion and mindfulness/grounding techniques when appropriate.

I draw from elements of many different modalities, including ACT, narrative therapy, mindfulness-based, motivational interviewing, and parts work/IFS. I also bring in many frameworks tailored to each client, including Health at Every Size (HAES), fat liberation, feminist, anti-racism, cultural humility, queer theory, disability justice, trauma-informed, positive youth development, and strengths-based.

Before joining Phoenix Rising Centers, I spent about six years working with youth and young adults experiencing mental health and housing crises. My clients have often been very low to no income and with a history of or actively open to the child welfare system. I have also helped folks gain access to state benefits, particularly as they transition into adulthood and independence. It is always a privilege to witness the transformations folks make as they progress through the difficult work of processing all that they are and want to become. This can look like exploring their identities, how they fit into systems like families or communities, feeling comfortable to unmask and/or stim, and so much more. Together, we can figure out what you’d like to tend to, and grow from there.

My Approach in Practice

What Clients Often Come to Me For

You may be considering therapy because something feels heavy, confusing, or difficult to carry alone. You might feel overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, unsure of what comes next, or simply ready to understand your life more deeply.

ADHD, Autism & Neurodivergence

Living with ADHD, autism, or another form of neurodivergence can mean navigating masking, sensory overwhelm, burnout, executive functioning challenges, or years of feeling misunderstood. Therapy can offer space to better understand how you experience the world, recognize what supports you, and create a life that works WITH you rather than against you.

Anxiety, Overthinking & Self-Doubt

Anxiety may show up as constant overthinking, replaying conversations, preparing for the worst, or questioning your own decisions. Together, we can explore where those responses came from, what they may be protecting, and how you can meet uncertainty with more steadiness and self-trust.

Depression, Exhaustion & Disconnection

Depression does not always look like visible sadness. It can feel like numbness, isolation, exhaustion, loss of motivation, or difficulty imagining that life could feel different. Therapy can help us gently name what has been weighing on you and reconnect with the relationships, values, and possibilities that still matter.

Identity, Self-Understanding & Acceptance

You may be questioning who you are, reconsidering the roles you have been expected to carry, or trying to hear your own voice beneath the expectations of others. We can explore your identity with curiosity while making room for the parts of yourself that have been hidden, criticized, or asked to become smaller.

Culture, Belonging & Family Expectations

Living between cultures, communities, or family expectations can leave you feeling pulled between different versions of who you are supposed to be. Therapy can hold those tensions without asking you to abandon one part of yourself for another. We can explore what belonging, integrity, and a meaningful life look like in YOUR own context.

Life Transitions & Major Changes

Changes in work, education, relationships, family, health, or identity can shift how you understand yourself and where you belong. Even welcome changes can bring grief, fear, or uncertainty. Therapy can offer space to honour what you are leaving behind while exploring what you want to carry into the next part of your life.

Relationships, Boundaries
& Communication

You may find yourself repeating familiar relationship patterns, struggling to express your needs, or feeling unsure about where your responsibilities end and another person’s begin. Together, we can explore how your experiences have shaped the ways you connect, protect yourself, and respond to conflict while building relationships grounded in greater care, honesty, and mutual respect.

I provide a judgment-free environment with space for humor, opportunities to grow, and the freedom to be human without the pressure of society. I like to make therapy as easy as possible, to not feel like a chore, but to also provide relief and healing.
