ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Seth. I’m psychodynamic therapist dedicated to the healing and liberation of queer, trans, BIPOC, and disabled communities. My practice is rooted in curiosity, compassion, and a trauma-informed, person-centered approach. I believe that meaningful therapeutic work happens in a relationship, and I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to move toward change at their own pace.

Outside the therapy room, I’m a community organizer, skateboarder, thrift shop enthusiast, and proud cat parent to Xiinon. I bring my full self into this work, including my experiences coordinating youth programs, supporting crisis interventions, and engaging in grassroots organizing with groups like the CSU Pride Resource Center, BIPOC Alliance, and Rocky Mountain Equality.

Why I Do This Work

“I do this work because I know what it’s like to feel unseen in the systems meant to care for us. Therapy, for me, is about co-creating spaces where people can show up with all parts of themselves, be it grief, rage, joy, or complexity, and be met with curiosity instead of judgment.”

I see therapy as a space for truth-telling, not performance. You don’t need to come in with a script or a plan. We start where you are, maybe that’s tired, unsure, guarded, or hopeful. There is enough space for everything. I pay close attention to how your body holds your stories and how language sometimes fails them. Together, we slow down, notice what's present, and follow the threads that matter.

In our sessions, we might explore thought patterns, cultural scripts, or childhood roles that shaped how you move through the world. I draw from psychodynamic theory, narrative work, mindfulness, and somatic awareness, but no two sessions look the same.

  • Our work together unfolds in relationship. I approach each session with curiosity and care, attuned to what feels present for you that day. That might mean sitting with a story that’s hard to hold alone, tracing a recurring dynamic, or slowing down enough to notice what your body is telling you.

Sometimes we focus on building tools for navigating stress or overwhelm. Other times, we make space for silence, for anger, for humor, for whatever wants to emerge. My background in psychodynamic therapy shapes the way I listen for meaning beneath the surface, while mindfulness and somatic work help us stay grounded in the here and now.

  • It is extremely important to me to ensure that I bring warmth, presence, and a deep respect for your story into every session. Modality wise, I draw from psychodynamic and trauma-informed approaches, paying attention to the emotional patterns, protective strategies, and relational wounds that may shape how you show up in the world today. I also value the healing power of humor, silence, and creativity when words don’t feel like enough.

My sessions are often grounded in curiosity: What feels alive for you in this moment? What’s going unspoken? I hold space for all the messy, contradictory parts of being human, especially for queer, trans, BIPOC, and disabled folks who’ve had to carry more than their share. I show up not just as a therapist, but as a fellow human committed to care, justice, and collective liberation.

How We Can Work Together

Clients often come to me when they’re:

Adjusting to big life shifts, starting something new, letting something go, or simply needing more steadiness in a world that feels unpredictable.

Trying to feel more at home in who they are, especially after years of being told to shrink, hide, or explain themselves. Sometimes this means exploring identity, sometimes it's about reclaiming joy or agency.

Stuck in old cycles that don’t feel like theirs anymore, and ready to examine where those patterns came from and how they’ve served a purpose, even if they’re no longer helpful.

Living with the long echoes of trauma or disconnection, and wanting to feel more grounded, more present, and more in touch with themselves and their needs.

Carrying the weight of care roles, activism, or community work, and wanting a space where you don’t have to be the strong one, where your own pain, anger, and needs are just as worthy of attention.

Whatever the reason, we’ll move together at a pace that centers your safety and curiosity, not urgency. I believe in making room for your story to unfold without forcing a quick fix, because the work we do is about tending to what’s been carried, not just what’s been named.
