ABOUT ME

Watercolor illustration of a light green lily flower with six petals, yellow-orange stamens, and green leaves.

Ana (she/her/ella) is a Dominican therapist-in-training from Lawrence, MA and a Master of Social Work candidate at Simmons University. Her roots and lived experience ground her practice in empathy, cultural humility, and deep respect for each person’s story. She brings both personal and professional insight to supporting clients navigating ADHD, depression, anxiety, autism, and dyslexia, meeting them without judgment and with genuine care.

Ana creates a calm, affirming space where clients can show up exactly as they are—no ā€œright wordsā€ required. Her approach is collaborative and client-led: you’re the expert on your life; she’s here to listen deeply, reflect, and walk alongside you. Together, you’ll build practical supports for the day-to-day while exploring identity, family dynamics, and the moments that shape who you are. She believes healing often unfolds in quiet moments of honesty, humor, reflection, and connection.

Ana’s professional growth and clinical work are supervised by Anim Aweh, (She/Her) LICSW, ensuring thoughtful, ethical, and evidence-based care.

Why I Do This Work

ā€œI do this work because I know what it means to carry stories across languages, borders, and generations. Therapy, for me, is a place where culture and care meet, where we can honor faith, family, and identity while also finding rest, focus, and steadiness in daily life. I want my clients to feel that they don’t have to leave parts of themselves at the door, but can bring their whole selves into the room and be accompanied with compassion and respect.ā€

My Approach in Practice

Watercolor illustration of a sprig of greenery with a yellow and purple orchid flower and small green flowers and leaves.

In our sessions, I want you to feel grounded, affirmed, and unhurried. My approach is collaborative and responsive, shaped by your lived experiences and the realities you carry. I bring a trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens, paying attention to how migration, race, language, and family histories live in the body and impact daily life.

I draw from evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT skills, EMDR, mindfulness, and somatic grounding, while always centering your voice and pace. Sometimes our work may focus on building small, steady routines that support focus and rest. Other times it may mean pausing to notice what your body is holding, or creating space to release the exhaustion of code-switching, caretaking, or systemic pressures.

My hope is that together, we can shape a path that honors both where you come from and where you want to go.

How We Can Work Together

  • CBT, mindfulness practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy approaches, talk therapy, and trauma-informed care techniques. These modalities aim to empower clients by providing tools for self-exploration, emotional healing, and personal transformation within a culturally sensitive and supportive environment.

  • I support clients in developing healthier responses to stress, building skills for emotional regulation, and nurturing personal growth.

  • In our sessions, you can expect a space where you are met with honesty, steadiness, and care. We’ll move at your pace, paying attention to what feels most important for you in the moment. Some days this may mean processing the weight of past experiences or emotions; other times, it may be about building tools to support you in daily life, relationships, or stressful situations.

I often integrate approaches like TF-CBT, EMDR, and DBT, but how we use them depends on what best fits your needs. Sessions may include grounding practices, exploring patterns in your story, or strengthening skills that help you feel more balanced and connected.

Above all, you can expect a collaborative partnership where your insight and wisdom guide the process. My commitment is to walk alongside you with consistency and compassion, creating room for both challenge and growth.

Clients often reach out to me when they are:

  • Carrying the weight of trauma, whether from childhood, sudden life events, or long-term stress, and wanting a steady space to sort through what it has left behind.

  • Living with anxiety, depression, or mood changes, and hoping for tools and practices that bring more stability, ease, and connection into everyday life.

  • Struggling with anger or emotional intensity, and wanting to understand what those feelings are signaling while learning healthier ways to express and release them.

  • Moving through life transitions, like shifts in relationships, grief, or stepping into new roles, and needing support to feel more grounded in uncertain times.

  • Looking for a therapist who can meet them with honesty and care, while also offering evidence-based tools that fit their unique needs and experiences.

No matter what brings you here, I approach our work with steadiness and compassion. I’m not here to rush or prescribe, but to walk with you as we uncover both the challenges you carry and the strengths that can support your growth, clarity, and resilience.
