Akeem Parks
He/Him
Advanced Year Clinical Intern
ABOUT ME
Akeem Parks (he/him) is in his final year of Social Work at Howard University, bringing a warm, grounded presence and a deep commitment to mental health equity for all. In his clinical internship, Akeem provides compassionate, client-centered, and culturally responsive support to individuals and families from all backgrounds and walks of life, with a special dedication to serving the LGBT community and other marginalized groups.
Akeem works with people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma (including racial and identity-based trauma), and major life transitions. He is especially dedicated to creating a space where every client feels truly seen, respected, and safe—where you can slow down, express yourself freely, and begin to heal at your own pace. Akeem integrates practical strategies for everyday relief with deeper work that honors your unique story, strengths, and cultural identity.
Guided by curiosity, humility, and a belief in each person’s capacity for growth, Akeem partners with clients to help build confidence, nurture meaningful relationships, and foster a sense of belonging and grounding. His clinical work is closely supervised by Anim Aweh, LICSW (she/her), ensuring that every client receives thoughtful, ethical, and evidence-based care.
Akeem welcomes you just as you are and looks forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing and wholeness.
